Club Constitution 1. TitleThe name of the Club shall be “NorfolkRhinos”, hereafter referred to as the “The Club” 2. Objects
3. ConstitutionLadies and Gentleman of not less than seventeen years of age shall be eligible for membership. The membership will consist of ordinary members, social members and family members. 4. ManagementThe authority and responsibility for the transaction of the business of the Club for its management shall be vested in a committee, who in addition to the powers and authorities by these rules expressly conferred on them, may exercise all powers and do all acts in the furtherance of the objects for which the club is established by the club in General meeting. 5. Election of OfficersThe President, Treasurer and Secretary and Event Organizer shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting and subject to terminination of office by resignation at the next Annual General Meeting following their appointment. The appointment of Committee members will be reviewed at the Annual General Meeting and is subject to the growth of the club. 6. CommitteeThe committee shall consist of not less than two and not more than four members exclusive of President and Treasurer. The Committee shall elect from amongst its own members a President and secretary. 7. Meeting of CommitteeThe Secretary either of their own accord or by the direction of the President shall unless otherwise agreed by all committee members give at least 7 days written notice of the meeting. 8. Absence from CommitteeAny member of the committee who shall without sufficient reasons absent themselves from three consecutive committee meetings may be called upon to resign their post upon the committee 9. Duties of the SecretaryIt shall be the duty of the secretary to attend in person or by deputy all meetings of the club and all meetings of the committee to take minutes of the proceedings. Such minutes shall be entered in a book and presented for confirmation at the following meetings 10. BankingAll moneys of the club shall be banked by the Treasurer or President in the name of the club, and no disbursements shall be made except in accordance with the form or forms authorized by the president and committee 11. MembershipAny person over the age of seventeen shall be deemed a full member upon joining the club forum or attending an off road event and filling out a standard application form. 12. Voting of committee membersEach members present as a meeting of the committee shall be entitled to exercise one vote. The committee shall vote by ballot if any member present so demands. A vote of one third against any application for membership shall exclude from membership 13. Use of club name and addressThe name and address of the club shall not be given by a member as his address for trade, advertising or business purposes or in connection with any legal proceedings 14. Expulsion of MembersIt shall be the duty of the Committee if at any time they shall be of the opinion that the interests of the club so require, by letter, to invitation any member to withdraw from the club within a time specified in such letter and in default of such withdrawal to submit the question of his/her expulsion to a meeting of the committee to be held within six weeks after the date of such letter. Members of the committee shall be given seven days notice that a question of withdrawal or expulsion is to be discussed at a meeting of the Committee. If two thirds of the member present shall then vote for his/her expulsion s/he shall cease to be a member of the club and will be banned from club events and the forum with immediate effect. 15. Annual General MeetingThe annual general meeting of the club shall be held in the month of December in each year upon a date and time that is to be fixed by the committee. The AGM shall:
16. AgendaWhen members wish a matter to be discussed at a general meeting, the text of such matters should be sent to the secretary 14 days before the date of such meeting 17. VotingEvery person with a right to be present may exercise one vote. In the case of a split vote the chairman shall be entitled to cast an additional deciding vote. 18. Right to be presentNo-one can take part in general meetings unless s/he has been duly elected as a member of the club and has paid subscription according to the rules. 19. Observance and interpretation of rulesEvery member binds themselves to abide the rules of the club and also by any modifications thereof made in conformity with such rules and also to accept as final and binding the decision of the committee in all cases of dispute or disagreement as the interpretation of these rules 20. Alteration of rulesAny alterations may be made in these rules by a general meeting. 21. EventsAll motor competitions organized by the club shall be held under the rules and requirements of the MSA Any member convicted of an offence arising out of his being in charge of a motor vehicle in any club event or on club business shall be thereupon liable to expulsion from the club under rule 21 22. DissolutionThe club may be dissolved by a meeting convened by direction of the committee. If the resolution of dissolution be duly passed the committee shall forthwith liquidate the affairs of the club and if there be any surplus assets on realization these shall be disposed of at the discretion of the committee. |
